Firstly I wish to thank Bookouture and Kim Nash for inviting me to take part on this Blog Tour for The Gift by Louise Jensen. This is Louise Jensen’s second novel the first being The Sister which wowed me. Please read on to find out more about this book.
The perfect daughter is dead. And a secret is eating her family alive…
Jenna is given another shot at life when she receives a donor heart from a girl called Callie. Eternally grateful to Callie and her family, Jenna gets closer to them, but she soon discovers that Callie’s perfect family is hiding some very dark secrets …
Callie’s parents are grieving, yet Jenna knows they’re only telling her half the story. Where is Callie’s sister Sophie? She’s been ‘abroad’ since her sister’s death but something about her absence doesn’t add up. And when Jenna meets Callie’s boyfriend Nathan, she makes a shocking discovery.
Jenna knows that Callie didn’t die in an accident. But how did she die? Jenna is determined to discover the truth but it could cost her everything; her loved ones, her sanity, even her life.
A compelling, gripping psychological thriller with a killer twist from the author of the Number One bestseller The Sister.

MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW FOR THIS BOOK
Someone had to die because it was the only way that Jenna could live. A transplant, a new heart, a gift of life from a stranger she would never meet, but someone she would get to know more about than even her family did.
There have been occasions when certain people have had transplants from donors they have picked up new skills as well as an extension on their lives. It is something like a residue memory that still exists in every part of that person that reignites when it is given new life in someone new. Skills as great as playing a piano or a new language. It is called Cellular Memory. This is fact but this story is fiction for now.
Callie had died in a car accident but she had unfinished business now her heart beats in Jenna’s body and Jenna is compelled to listen, make sense of horrific dreams and put Callie to rest some how.
This book is so darn awesome! I really did love The Sister but Louise Jensen has definitely gone to the top of the class with this one. From the opening pages I felt emotionally bonded to Jenna. I wanted her to find out more about Callie but at times heard myself saying no don’t it is too dangerous. Jenna though is some gutsy girl and at times it feels like it is a debt she needs to pay for the life she has been given. Callie will always be part of her. Louise Jensen tackles the subject of transplants and how it affects the whole family sensitively and compassionately. A tremendous book that I highly recommend.
