HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW

I love stories that are different, the ones that make you think outside the box, well this book is so removed from that, that is doesn’t even have a box! If you like weird or strange you will absolutely love this the bizarre concoction of 8 tales that you couldn’t even dream about. Some of the stories I found very intriguing with quite deep meanings when you really think about them. I believe that every reader would draw something different out of this book that was just personal to themselves and depending on their own mind set when they read I think you would see these stories differently too.

I stopped just for a minute after each story to think about what I had read, a little bit of ‘the morale of the story is’ thinking because each held a warning for the reader to compare the parallel to every day life for its meaning. It is all really very clever as the stories are very original and yet had a familiarity about them too.  I am sure some people will read just for the sheer entertaining value. Mike Russell for me is the Picasso of short stories, depending on which angle you view each one from you will find something different every time.  My favourite story was ‘Mime’

I would be the first to say that this really isn’t for everyone as some would find it too off the beaten track. Me I loved it but click on the preview below and sample a taste.  Very refreshing and unpredictable.

 

HERE IS A LITTLE ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mike Russell was born in 1973. He grew up in the small village of Pulborough in the south of England. As a child, he enjoyed daydreaming, art and writing strange stories. As an adult, he enjoys daydreaming, art and writing strange stories.
Mike Russell’s books have been described as Strange Fiction, Weird Fiction, Weird Lit, Surrealism, Fantasy Fiction, Science Fiction, Speculative Fiction, Metaphysical Fiction… but he just likes to call them Strange Books.
